Ozio Gallery

As a joomla user, you may be wanted to use good and very professional galleries to display your photos to attract people to vist your site. I will advise you to use OZIO GALLERY component which is released for free under GPL license. In fact, when installing this component you will be very happy with its functionalities and you may find demonstrations on the site of the ozio gallery (http://oziogallery.joomla.it/). However, there is a word on the botton of the gallery that you will not like at all. It is “Powered By Joomla.it“. The developer is very very expert and intelligent. They encrypted this coding in such a way that I took allmost 3 hours to find it.

Below are the steps to remove the “Powered By Joomla.it

1. Goto root folder of the joomla system.
2. Goto to the folder administrator\components\com_oziogallery\css and open it.
4. You will find the file ‘ozio.css‘ and open it an editor.
5. Remove all the code after the line 6 that is remove the code after the code </style>.
6. Save the file.
7. Refresh your gallery and voila its done!!!

  2. Ok sorry, big mistake, I was not searching in the administrator folder. 10x dude ;)

  3. you are welcome

  4. Hi,
    I bumped into your site while searching for this “Powered By Joomla.it” issue. Your solution really helped. Thanks a ton for it.

    Do you have any idea how to remove the “f” logo in the Corousel gallery ( provided by joomla.it itself ?)

    Thanks,
    Shiv

  5. hello, thanks

    Well concerning the carousel gallery, i’ll check into it and will let u know by sending u an email. I got ur email add here..

  6. Hi,

    I tried your trick, but I’m not sure if I’m too unexperienced or they changed the settings, but I’m not allowed to change the OZIO.CSS file. I tried to edit and when it didn’t work I tried to change permissions, but it says I’m not allowed to.

    Can you help me with this? I would so much like to get this line out of this cool tool.

    Thanks in advance,
    Erwin

  7. Hello,

    If you have already hosted your site in a web server and that you are not able to edit the file, it means that you are not allow to edit file. In this situation, I will request you to copy that file into your hard drive using an ftp software and you edit it locally and then upload that file again to its location and overwrite the existing file.

    I hope this will help.

  8. Using Ozio Gallery 1.0.8, I followed your instructions but it did not remove the ‘Powered by Joomla.it’ line from the image rotator option. Any ideas on how to do this on the latest version?

    It’s a great component, and I would praise it highly in forums and give credit to Joomla.it. However, in its present form it is unusable in most serious web sites because of that message.

  9. yes, I check this version, the same steps must be done to remove the “powered by Joomla.it”. Just check if you have the access right to CMOD write on the files on the web server. Or the first thing you do, you clear your browser cache then reload the site. If its not good then you check if you have access to write the file.

  10. Thanks for the quick reply. Hmm. I have edit rights to ozio.css on the web site (644) and I had no problem editing it. Any CSS edits that I have made in the past show up instantly, so I don’t think any caching takes place. I’m open to any suggestions.

  11. ok, if you have edit the css file correctly and went through the steps correctly then it should work perfectly. Anyway, have you try to clear your cache browser. If yes and it is still displaying it, then I would advise you to login in you joomla site backend and clear the joomla site cache in the menu toolbar at the top.

  12. Sorry, faardeen, it’s not working for me. I don’t have a cache set up in my Joomla 1.5 installation, but I nevertheless cleared the caches on my Joomla on the server and my browsing computer. No change.

  13. well, just to confirm from you, have you commented the line of code after the closing tag. You can also delete the lines of code after it also. Ok what you do is that just send the codes in the css file. just post it here itself. I’ll try to help you out.

  14. table.ozio {
    width: 100%;
    font-size: 9px;
    }

  15. Oops – it looks like the css code was accepted as code rather than text by your site, as the first and last lines were cut off. I’ve commented out the code from ozio.css so that this doesn’t happen.

    Here is the code (the comment codes of course aren’t included in actual code)

    /*

    table.ozio {
    width: 100%;
    font-size: 9px;
    }

    */

  16. It did it again! OK here is the first line commented out.
    /* */

    Here is the last line
    /* */

  17. :-( the first line is just the style type and the last line is as you have it highlighted in red above.

  18. SOLVED! As well as using Ozio Gallery, I am using the Ozio Gallery Module (ver 1.0.0) to place the gallery where I want it on my site.

    To remove the “powered by …” text from your site you have to edit the following file: /modules/mod_oziogallery/mod_oziogallery.php and remove the last 6 lines of the script that deals with the table. That’s it!

  19. now i got your problem, you were using the module not the component. The above solution was for the component when trying to use the gallery linked to a menu. Anyway, if ever you are using the gallery linked to a menu then you may use my solution. I apologize for replying now, because I was very busy during the day.

    Anyway, have a nice time with Joomla…

  20. Thanks for your help. To see if BOTH edits are required, I replaced the modified ozio.css file with the original, and the “Powered by..” text did not reappear. However, it is not a bad idea to edit out both references – that way you know you’re safe!

  21. Hey! Thumbs up for the tip!! Been able to easily delete the “powered by joomla.it” line from the ozio carousel gallery…. Now trying to figure out how to remove the “f” icon, could you please help with this?
    Thanks in advance..

  22. hello, well I’m not at home where I got all my files in my PC and I do not have the files needed to check it. Will let you know soon here itself and if possible provide me with more details.

  23. Thanks so much, really appreciate your help!

  24. Thanks for the help i was about to kill myself in search of that.

    Need help
    I placed Ozio Gallery(Accordion) in a module Below the Top Menu
    I have 3 modules ….
    It is ocerlapping with the other modules
    And im unable to reduce the border of the gallery which is empty and taking lot of space on Left, Top and Bottom
    Please Help me ………

  25. hello,

    I can help you out, but I am not able to get your point without a visual scene of what your problem is and which version of ozio gallery are you using and joomla.

  26. Hi,

    going crazy on this as well, using v2 my code in the ozio.css looks like this:

    Help!

    • hello, yea v2 is very well complicated but you will not be able able to remove the link in the carousel itself because it is an swf file. If you can edit the swf file and remove it you are good to go. You must must first convert the swf file which is called carousel.swf in the component folder where it is stored to an fla file then remove the movie clip in the fla and then save it back to carousel.swf
